Day 3 - Cobwebs & Cribs

It's still snowing today. Isla & I have yet to venture out of the house, yet again. We got about 16" from what I've heard from the people that actually leave their house. :) So today we stayed inside & took the Christmas tree down. This tree has been invading our living room since November 27th & was way past it's prime. You know you have had your Christmas tree up for too long when you find cobwebs on the tree topper....

Today was also day 2 of trying to get Isla to sleep in her crib by herself. She did fall asleep twice, for a total of about an hour, before mommy gave up at 2:30am. Didn't hear another peep out of her until 9am. Why mess with something that's not broken right?! Haha. So this afternoon tried again & did manage a nap in the crib (although I did have to shove myself into the crib with her to get her to fall asleep). She did sleep for an hour, but that's down from 2 hours if I just put her in our bed...

Now for the grand finale. It's about 6pm & we're eating dinner at the kitchen table. Both Isla & I are exhausted from the crib-battle the previous night. And on top of that, she only took one 1-hour nap instead of two 2-hour naps. So I'm feeding her baby pears...she's eating hungrily & snacking on some chicken & veggies from our dinner...I dip the spoon in again & look up to give her another bite & this is what I find...

Poor thing is OUT COLD. I could barely contain my laughter! You know you're tired when you fall asleep in mid-bite. Gotta love her. So the moral of this story is, if something ain't broke...don't fix it. Tonight we are all going to snuggle up in our bed & get a good nights sleep! :)

Day 2 - Snowed In

Well, we made it to day 2. That's better than I can say than with some of my other projects. I think I may have a bit of a short attention span :) That's something I'll have to put on the daunting list of 2011's New Year's resolutions!

But anyway, today was another winter day in Maine. I don't think the thermometer outside of my window ever ventured past 25 degrees, and my poor little bird feeder was twirling in the wind all day long. We are on the third day of straight snow, with tomorrow supposedly dumping a total of 10-16 inches. It's about this time of year that I've had it with winter. Everyone likes a little "White Christmas", but after that, I'm done! Ready to pack up & move to central California :) Some day....

So yes, back to the pictures. Needless to say, I never changed out of my pajamas today. Never left the house. So today's photo is of my little bug, Isla. Love her to death!

Day 1 -365 Photos in 2010

Among other things (get skinny again, stop spending so much money, etc etc) one of my new year's resolutions this year was to do a 365 day - Picture A Day photo album.

So basically I have to take, and post, at least one photo a day for the entire year. I am hoping this will help me document (and remember) all of the events of 2010. I created this blog to help me keep track of, and motivate me to finish, this project :)

I'm always an impressive overachiever on the first day of any project, so just one photo wouldn't do. Here goes....Jan 1st 2010:

We went out to Margarita's for dinner & drinks on New Year's Eve, then people came back to our house to drink some more, in the usual New Year's Eve fashion. Today's pictures are of the few who decided to camp out on our floor the previous night (Sheena, Chad & Samara). Also couldn't pass up posting a few of the crazy 4-day long nor'easter that we're right in the middle of. Oh, Maine....
